Alright people…….this WOD started out as a fun experience, but quickly turned to a horrible one for me. I finished my last round of C2B/ring pushups around 4:32 or 5 minutes, BUT when I did my last double under the clock said 10:31! The 21/15/9 couplet fried my arms and back so much that when it came time to do double unders again I couldn’t move my arms quick enough. When I realized how crippled I was the anxious breathing began and struggled through my last 150.

Have fun people :) , oh and sweet 101 video!

Oh, please, the anxious breathing started the second I realized I had to jump rope 900 times!

Agreed Rhabdo. It wasn’t the breathing that got me, it was my weak shoulders that fatigued me- And C2B are never fun

Today’s workout was pretty tough. Not going to lie, getting those 150 double-unders was frustrating as hell, especially cause I suck at them and was doing a ratio of 1:1. Nonetheless, I RXed it in 21:50. But that’s not the important thing I learned today (I learn something new every time I walk into the box..such as I am going to buy Grips because the tape isnt helping and it slowed me down today).

So there I was on my last round of 9 for C2B Pull-Ups, Coach Mike is cheering me on and on my last one, did it, but wasn’t totally sure if I had gotten it. I kinda looked to my right, looked Mike right in the eye and asked him, “That one count?” To which Mike responded, “Didn’t quite get it” with a smile. I knew it and he knew it, but they way he said it filled me with a strange feeling.

Rather than lose my cool or get angry at myself, the exact opposite happened. It was at that moment I realized that these coaches care more than anything about our performance. They want us to succeed and improve in every aspect of our life. Hell, I had made such progress, Mike had me demonstrate kipping pull-ups to the 6amers last Friday. These coaches are there to congratulate you when you have an awesome WOD, pump you up when your struggling, and make you laugh when you’ve absolutely lost your mind.

Needless to say, I got the last rep (INTEGRITY), got the ring push-ups done, and tackled the Double Unders (one day you will be mine) the whole time knowing everyone in the box, coaches and Cross-Fitters, had my back. We struggle, push each other, talk trash, and celebrate together..it really is a family atmosphere. Thank you so much for everything coaches and Motown community. I cannot imagine my life without any of you.

As a side note, Dennis had a tummy ache and couldn’t WOD this am. I think if we all chip in for some medicine for his upset tummy, he will be able to WOD again sometime this week.

Also, Pete, I overhead some of your costume ideas for the Halloween party…my costume is soo going to blow yours away. You don’t stand a chance.

Lastly, I got my 31 Heroes t-shirt…you have no idea how stoked I am. Wearing it the rest of the week…no matter how bad it might start smelling.

Love the post Phelps. Thank you. Our coaches are different and K and I are proud to have each and every one of them. They make the hard and unpopular decisions. They do so because they want what’s best for all of you. I watch too many videos of celebrated PR’s with either terrible range of motion or horrible and unsafe mechanics. Not acceptable by our coaches. Trust me, it is hard to tell someone who just busted their ass for a PR, that the range of motion just wasn’t there. THAT SUCKS for us. But lying to our members is not in the cards for this crew. You all deserve much more than just cheerleaders. That’s easy.

    Hi all,

Each November I participate in a charity event called Movember. I’ve pledged to cultivate a genuine 100% face grown moustache for 30 days to raise awareness and funds for men’s health, specifically cancers affecting men. My dad is a prostate cancer survivor so this cause is near and dear to me. If anyone would like to join my Movember team go to

    https://www.movember.com/us/register/details/team_id/204288

As more people become Citizens of Movember, more lives will be impacted. You can grow a moustache as a Mo Bro, or join as a Mo Sista to show your support and help recruit other Mo growers to the team.

Once registered, Movember will send you all the information you need to start raising awareness and funds for men’s health as part of my Movember team.

If you’d like to find out more about the programs funded by Movember, please visit http://us.movember.com/about.

    Please join me at https://www.movember.com/us/register/details/team_id/204288.

    Thanks for the help!

    Alyse!!!! looKing strong mama!

Just wanto give everyone the heads up on two things:

    1. As Suzy has said RSVP to the party please…ruth@guerrillafitness.net

    2. Friday, Oct 28 at noon, we are having a pumpkin carving WOD… I know there are a bunch of folks of there who think they have pumpkin carving skills, I say, ” BRING IT!!” HAHAHA!!!

Ps. This is just is just a very bad attempt at taunting, so that Gregg and I don’t end up having to carve all the pumpkins alone. And it is honestly amusing to watch me squirm while covered in pumpkin guts, because I have textural issues.

I told Gregg to change the 6/7 pm after wod happy hour into pumpkin carving sessions. My surgeon of a hubby has some carving skills :) and no textural issues. I’m volunteering him. Lol. Enjoy!

    Marni,

Beers and semi sharp objects…that could pose a very interesting beer night… I actually enjoy the carving part, its the gross and gooey pumpkin innards that make me twitchy.
