Anyone in a position to attempt a legitimate CrossFit Total should be familiar enough with their capabilities on the lifts to have a fairly good idea of just what might be possible for a one-rep max (1RM).  This number is what you warm up intending to do.   A meet situation will involve three attempts, and this is a good way to determine a true 1RM.  The first attempt would be a weight you know you can do for a heavy set of three. The second attempt would be a weight you know without any doubt that you could do for a single, having just done the first attempt. And the third attempt is the weight you want to do, based on your performance on the previous two attempts.

ANNOUNCEMENT:  There will be no 9am or 10am class this morning. 
The FGB IV begins at noon!


Complete three rounds of 1 minute at each station. Rest 1 minute between rounds.

Wall-ball, 10 ft target 20 lbs
Sumo deadlift high-pull 75 lbs
Box jump 20"
Push-press 75 lbs

*Spend one minute at each of five stations, resulting in a a five-minute round after which a one-minute break is allowed before repeating. This event calls for three rounds. The clock does not reset or stop between exercises. On call of ‘rotate,’ the athletes must move to the next station immediately. One point is given for each rep, except on the rower, where each calorie is one point.

8 Ring Dips
8 Push Ups with hands rotated backwards

*Do these from a normal push up position, rotate your hands so your fingers are pointed back towards your legs. Good for wrist flexibility.

On September 3 2009 Guerrilla Fitness lost a friend and a family lost a father.  Today we are remembering the wonderful man that showed up every morning and brought a vigor for life to our gym.
